Blue Heelers have long fascinated me for their quiet resilience, unwavering loyalty and instinctive connection to the land. There is a rare beauty in the stillness that follows purpose, and Jade Dreamer was born from that fleeting moment—when the day's work is done, the body rests, yet the spirit remains quietly alert. With expressive layers of paint and gestural brushwork, I sought to mirror the breed itself: confident, honest and unpretentious, where every mark carries both strength and tenderness. The unexpected harmony of rich violet tones against a luminous jade backdrop creates a sense of calm while allowing the subject's presence to quietly unfold. Rather than simply portraying a dog, I wanted to evoke a feeling of steadfast companionship and quiet reflection. Jade Dreamer is an invitation to pause—to find beauty in moments of rest, and in the enduring bond between loyalty, place and the gentle rhythm of everyday life.
