Creativity takes centre stage at the Nudgee College Arts Gala, where our students proudly exhibit artworks developed across every stage of their artistic journey. From the joyful experimentation of our Junior School artists to the increasingly confident, thought-provoking work of our Middle Years and Senior students, this special exhibition celebrates imagination, skill and individual expression.
Only a glimpse of this work is shared online, Gala guests will have the opportunity to experience the full collection in person and discover the remarkable talent, dedication and creative voices flourishing at Nudgee.

Junior School
Our Junior School Visual Art program encourages students to explore, experiment and develop confidence as young artists. Through a wide range of drawing, painting, printmaking and mixed media experiences, students build a strong understanding of the elements of art while learning to express their own ideas creatively.
This year's exhibition features vibrant Hundertwasser-inspired watercolour paintings from Year 5 and imaginative mixed media accordion books exploring the elements of art from Year 6. These works celebrate curiosity, colour and the joy of artistic exploration, showcasing the creative foundations that students continue to build throughout their artistic journey.
Middle Years
As students move through Middle School, they begin to refine their technical abilities while developing their own artistic identity. They investigate a diverse range of artists, techniques and contemporary themes, challenging themselves to think critically and communicate ideas through visual language.
This exhibition showcases intricate Year 7 Steampunk animal drawings and ceramic sculptures, expressive Year 8 works inspired by the natural world, and thoughtful Year 9 portraits and street art projects that explore identity, culture and social commentary. Year 10 students further extend these skills through striking large-scale abstract portraiture, experimenting with composition, colour, scale and expressive mark-making to communicate personality and emotion.
Senior Art
Senior Visual Art provides students with opportunities to pursue increasingly independent artistic practice. Students investigate contemporary issues, develop conceptual ideas and experiment with a wide range of media to produce original and meaningful artworks.
Throughout the year, students undertake inquiry-based projects that encourage research, experimentation, reflection and refinement. Their artworks represent months of investigation, problem-solving and technical development, culminating in highly personal responses that reflect both individual perspectives and an understanding of contemporary artistic practice.
The works presented in this exhibition highlight the talent, dedication and creative thinking of our senior students.
