What a joyous painting this is. ‘She loves a hat’ is a nod to a happy day, dancing in the mountains, hat in tow, the sun shining and the streams running. The reference to ‘hat’ is a nod to Georgia O’Keefe, who was famously known for her hat, and would roam the landscape and produce amazing art. She is respectful of her surrounds, and not expectant. She knows nature is a gift, to be enjoyed, and to be revered.

About the Artist: 

Nicole McPherson is an abstract and figurative artist, based in Brisbane, Australia. Her work is bright and ‘loud’ and layered, and predominately about faces and color and mood. Initially drawn to figurative work, because of her keen interest in human expression, she’s morphed her style from realism to abstract expressionism. This fits well alongside her purely abstract pieces – and you will often find a meshing of both forms in her works.
